Get to know your feet well. If you check them on a daily basis you¡¯ll soon notice any cuts and breaks in the skin or unusual changes in colour or temperature.
Wash, but don¡¯t soak your feet each day. Soaking can destroy natural oils, but a wash in warm soapy water, followed by a thorough dry ¡§C especially between the toes ¡§C keeps them odour free and fresh.
Remove hard skin with a foot file or pumice stone. Take care though over bony areas and joints and never continue if painful.
The skin on your feet is different from anywhere else on your body ¡§C so buy special foot powders to reduce moisture and use a foot moisturiser to keep skin soft and supple.
Trim nails regularly ¡§C straight across and not too short.
Change socks, tights and stockings daily and keep feet warm, dry and well exercised to keep them at their peak.
By following these steps you will be well on your way to having terrific, healthy feet. And if you do notice any changes or have any worries then consult your podiatrist or GP immediately.
